My luck knows no bounds, good or bad

So, one of the most important things I need to do before I leave is sell my commuter car. I don't want to keep it (unlike my Land Rovers) and I need the money from the sale to prepare for the trip.

I'd planned to do this about three weeks ago but that idea was abandoned after an idiot in a Porsche thought it would be a great idea to cause an accident and my car ended up being repaired. After getting my car back last Friday, just in time for a family BBQ, I thought I'd be able sell it this week. How wrong can I be; the clutch hydraulics failed on my way home. Now my car is in a garage, and it'll cost me money that is actually tied up in the car itself, to get it repaired.

Entering the murky world of the Blogosphere...

As usual, following another great family BBQ weekend, I've had all the requests to "stay in touch". It's true; I'm quite hopeless at it. Given my impending move to Qatar and a new job, though, I realised that I might actually have things to say in future that are worth reading about. With that in mind I've set up this blog. It's a compromise, however; I'm more likely to keep it up to date without remembering to e-mail everyone, and family and friends can just dip in, as and when, to see what I've been up to. Even leave comments if they so desire (which will probably be along the lines of "Keep in touch you lazy git!").

Let's hope I can actually keep it up to date with pertinent and interesting things about my new life, and leave internet community rubbish to Facebook. So, please enjoy and do leave comments. :-)
